App: Aransaga
Developer: Andreas Schulz
Last updated: October 11, 2026

Summary

Aransaga does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. It does send anonymous reading-progress statistics that cannot be tied to you (see Anonymous Usage Statistics below). All game progress is stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your personal iCloud account so it can sync between your devices. The developer has no access to it. Optional in-app purchases and optional Game Center achievements are processed entirely by Apple.

Data We Store

iCloud Sync

If your device is signed in to iCloud, Aransaga stores a copy of your game progress in your personal iCloud account (Apple's iCloud key-value storage) so that it syncs between your own devices. This data stays within your Apple ID; the developer cannot read or access it. Without iCloud the game works identically — your progress is then kept on the device only. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

In-App Purchases

Aransaga offers optional in-app purchases (story volumes) processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The app itself never sees or stores any payment details. It only checks with Apple's StoreKit framework, on your device, whether a purchase exists, in order to unlock the corresponding content. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

Game Center

If you are signed in to Apple's Game Center, Aransaga reports achievements you earn (reading progress, collectibles, side quests) to Game Center so they appear in your Game Center profile. This is optional: without a Game Center sign-in the game works identically and nothing is reported. Game Center is operated by Apple; the app never sees your Game Center friends or profile data beyond the sign-in status. Apple's handling of Game Center data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

Anonymous Usage Statistics

To find out where readers stop and which chapters take longest — so the story can be improved — Aransaga sends a small, anonymous signal when you reach a new chapter, when you leave one, when the purchase screen for a volume first appears, and, once per installation, at a few fixed points in the prologue (for example when you start the story or pass the first choice). The signal itself contains only the chapter number, the volume it belongs to, the name of the fixed point, whether the chapter was read to its end, and how long the chapter took in reading time, rounded to ten seconds. It never contains the choices you make in the story.

Like any analytics tool, the service we use (TelemetryDeck, a European provider) attaches standard technical context to each signal: the app version, the device model and iOS version, screen size, your language and region settings, display and accessibility preferences, the time the signal was sent, and an identifier for the current app session that is discarded when the session ends.

None of this identifies you. The app reports the same fixed value for every installation instead of a user or device identifier, so signals carry no identifier that links them to you, to your device, or to each other across sessions. No advertising identifier is used, nothing is shared with advertisers or data brokers, and the data is never sold.

Data We Do Not Collect

Children

Aransaga does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app contains no age-gated content or features requiring parental consent.
